IVAS per l'arte, la salute e la cultura:
a Venezia il cielo del Portego si tinge di Blu Oltremare

Venice, May 2025
In an era where the architecture of healthcare spaces is called upon to meet not only functional needs but also deeply human ones, “The Sky Above the Portego” is born: a site-specific installation that brings together art, emotion, and well-being. Conceived by architect and designer Michele De Lucchi with ADML Circle, in collaboration with Fondaco Italia, CompletEdil3, and IVAS, the project is created for the Fondazione Scuola Grande di San Marco on the occasion of the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale

IVAS, promoting beauty and wll-being in places of care
With a longstanding commitment to improving living spaces through solutions that combine aesthetics, technology, and sustainability, IVAS reaffirms its active role in fostering culture and innovation. The company contributes to the creation of an artwork that brings art into spaces of healing. The installation is set within the premises of Venice’s Civil Hospital, embodying the belief that caring for people also means nourishing the gaze, the soul, and the imagination. A poetic and powerful gesture: to lift one’s eyes upward, beyond the boundaries of illness, toward a symbolic sky that evokes possibility, hope, and the future.

An architecture suspended between emotion and memory
The aerial structure is composed of wooden slats suspended between the columns of the portego, painted with IVAS' products in a shade of “Ultramarine Blue” – a hue rich in symbolism, spirituality, and meditation. Chosen to evoke the celestial vault, the color reconnects those passing through the space to a higher, intimate, and universal dimension. In this way, the sky becomes part of the architecture, and the architecture becomes a tool for emotional healing.

A dialogue with Le Corbusier: when vision meets reality
The installation engages in a dialogue with the original model of Le Corbusier’s design for the new Venice hospital – an extraordinary example of innovative architecture and urban vision. Developed between 1963 and 1970, among the last works conceived by the architect, the hospital was imagined as a horizontal organism capable of integrating urban pathways, medical spaces, and recovery areas. Though never built, it remains today a symbol of visionary design and a point of reference for contemporary challenges in hospital architecture and the relationship between city, landscape, and infrastructure.

The exhibition, which opened on May 8th, will conclude on October 30th with a Charity Dinner, during which aerial sculptures derived from the modular deconstruction of the large installation will be auctioned. The event will feature the participation of Ezio Greggio. Part of the proceeds will be allocated to acquiring innovative solutions in Telecardiology and Artificial Intelligence for treating patients in the cardiology department of Venice’s Civil Hospital.

IVAS thus reaffirms its identity as much more than a building materials company: a cultural agent, a partner in well-being, and a promoter of beauty and humanity in the spaces we inhabit.
