EPS recycled – the material of today and tomorrow

Often the target of unfounded criticism and misleading perceptions, EPS (expanded polystyrene) is actually one of the plastic materials with the lowest environmental impact. According to an international study conducted by the Danish Ministry of the Environment, its presence in the seas, by weight, is less than 1% of the total plastic waste.

Why? EPS is composed of 98% air, is light, buoyant and therefore easily recoverable both from the sea and the beaches. Thanks to its structure, it does not settle on the seabed and can be tracked throughout the supply chain. All the above features, combined with the possibility of being 100% recycled, make EPS a sustainable material.

"Data clearly show that EPS is not among the plastic materials responsible for underwater pollution. The fact that it’s light and visible has fueled a bias, but in terms of actual impact, it weighs very little. We need to change the measurement paradigm: don’t count objects, evaluate their actual weight contribution" – Giuseppe Rinaldi, President of AIPE.

Energy efficiency, living comfort, and respect for the environment:
the IVAS external insulation system in EPS+ recycled

Based on this data, it is essential to enhance the use of polystyrene in construction, especially in external thermal insulation systems. In this context, IVAS stands out for a quality- and sustainability-oriented approach, being the only system provider on the Italian market offering self-produced “zero km” ETICS kits with a short and controlled supply chain, ETA, DoP and CE certified; offering the best solutions to resolve critical design, application, logistics, and distribution issues for the benefit of designers, retailers, and contractors.

The unique management of the entire production process – from insulation panel production to decorative finishes – results in an extraordinary level of customization with custom processing and tailor-made projects (even in small quantities) such as surface finishes and volumetric façade modeling thanks to a complex industrial pantograph and the technical support needed to turn any stylistic and architectural idea into reality. During the production process, all processing waste is fully reused in the transformation cycle, thus creating a virtuous zero-waste circuit.

The Termok8 IVAS external insulation system with EPS+ recycled insulation is not only highly energy efficient, but also a conscious choice for those looking to the future.

Choosing IVAS means concretely contributing to reducing environmental impact without compromising on quality and innovation.
