NEW 4.0 PLANT FOR INSULATING MATERIALS FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN CONSTRUCTION
IVAS was among the first companies to introduce the ETICS system to the Italian market, a virtuous journey that began 45 years ago and today sees its completion with the realization of the new automated production plant for insulating materials in recycled EPS, currently the most technologically advanced in Italy and powered by renewable energy thanks to a 650 kW photovoltaic system.
The EPS (expanded polystyrene), produced in sheets, is used for thermal and acoustic insulation and is a material with a high thermal insulation capacity. Composed of 98% air trapped in closed cells of limited size, it promotes high thermal performance, limiting energy losses and contributing to energy savings in both summer and winter air conditioning, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions that contribute to the greenhouse effect. During the production process, manufacturing waste is fully reused in the transformation cycle, enabling the creation of a zero-waste virtuous cycle.
IVAS thus becomes the first and only player in the Italian market to offer truly sustainable External Thermal Insulation Systems, self-produced at Km0. Previously, the company already produced some of the main components of ETICS, such as fixatives, mortars, adhesives, and coatings.
