INAUGURATION
Thursday 21 March 2024 IVAS Group, leader in the production of building finishes and systems for the energy efficiency of the envelope, has inaugurated the new factory 4.0 of insulating panels, with which the birth of the 1 Green Valley is made official. This new reality also marks the completion of a path begun over 45 years ago, when IVAS was among the first companies to introduce ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System) systems on the Italian market and continued with the foundation of the Cortexa National Consortium in support of this technology and its dissemination.
THE NEW FACTORY
The new automated production plant of insulating materials in recycled EPS, is today the most technologically advanced in Italy and is powered by the renewable energy of a 650 Kw photovoltaic panels system. In this new structure is located the production division IVAS EPS+, whose technology of insulating panels IVASPOR® is certified "Remade in Italy", to guarantee a quality product with an actual recycled content inside. The modern plant will produce about 300,000 m3, corresponding to about 2.5 million m2 of insulating panels, positively affecting the insulation of the facades, improving energy performance and environmental impact, reducing consumption and achieving high thermal and acoustic comfort.

IVAS, which already before produced some of the main components of the External wall insulation System (fixatives, mortars, adhesives and coatings), becomes the first and only actor on the Italian market to propose 90% self-produced kit at km 0 (only nets and plugs remain on the market).
Thanks to IVAS External Thermal Insulation Systems, every year around 115 million kg of CO2 are cut down in Italy. In fact, an ETICS system allows to reduce the energy consumption of homes respectively up to about 45% in condominiums and up to about 33% in individual homes, confirming itself as the most impacting technology to achieve the objectives of European directives. Environmental sustainability is the main challenge of the Italian and European construction sector, with the goal of achieving neutrality by 2050 and the reduction of 55% of energy consumption (Fit for 55 program). It is also confirmed the approval by the EU Parliament of the EPBD Directive (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive), called "Green Deal" directive which requires Member States to take measures to ensure a reduction in primary energy use by buildings. In this context, it is essential to redevelop the existing building stock, responsible for 40% of energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. In Italy this means upgrading in a few years about 500 thousand public buildings and 5 million private buildings with the lowest performance.
THE FIRST ITALIAN GREEN BUILDING VALLEY IS BORN
With the inauguration of the new plant is finally proclaimed the birth of the Green Building Valley - Envelope Efficiency District, that is, the District of energy efficiency of the building envelope, a project that will involve other actors in the supply chain in the training and awareness of citizens and young people on the very important issues related to the energy efficiency of buildings and the positive implications on the environment and climate.
